Software Development Team Lead

We Lead the end-to-end development, deployment, and continuous enhancement of Toyota’s connected services ecosystem across European markets. Our work oversees the integration of vehicle connectivity platforms, mobile applications, and cloud-based services, ensuring scalability, security, and seamless user experience. We Collaborate with engineering, product, IT, legal, and external partners to accelerate service rollout and maintain operational excellence.

Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Team Lead to join the Toyota Digital Hub. You will lead a cross-functional development team responsible for delivering high-quality software products while driving technical excellence and team performance. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills, a delivery-driven mindset, and the ability to foster collaboration and continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning

• Drive end-to-end software delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals, architecture standards, and quality expectations

• Define and enforce best practices in software development, including coding standards, testing, CI/CD, and DevOps processes

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions

• Oversee sprint planning, backlog refinement, and delivery tracking to ensure predictable and high-quality outcomes

• Identify technical risks, manage dependencies, and remove blockers to keep development on track

• Ensure system performance, scalability, and security through sound architectural and engineering practices

• Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management of team members

• Act as a key point of contact between technical teams and business stakeholders

• Promote innovation and continuous improvement across processes, tools, and technologies

Qualifications & Skills:

What we require:

• Strong technical background in software development (e.g., Java, or similar ecosystems)

• Proven experience leading development teams in Agile environments

• Solid understanding of system design, microservices architecture, APIs, and cloud platforms

• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development tools

• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach and motivate teams

• Excellent communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to drive decision-making and resolve complex challenges

• Experience in planning, delivery management, and cross-team coordination

 Additional requirements (considered an advantage):

Experience in development of Connected Services for the automotive industry

• Working pattern: Hybrid - 2 days every 2 weeks (flexible), depending on business needs

• Reporting line: Manager
