Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will serve as a technical lead within the Accounting and Finance organization, responsible for the enterprise-wide financial integrity and consolidation of a multi-entity renewable energy business. This role goes beyond traditional reporting by improving and optimizing accounting and reporting systems, leading technical GAAP research for corporate-level transactions and debt structures, and supporting strategic financial narratives to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
This position offers a hybrid work environment with in-person collaboration expectations.
Responsibilities
- Perform all activities necessary to issue timely and accurate financial statements by the 5th business day of the following month.
- Maintain the general ledger system and associated account reconciliations.
- Manage complex intercompany transactions, including transfers, eliminations, and consolidated financial statements.
- Coordinate preparation of audited annual financial statements and quarterly financial reports.
- Coordinate and assist with external auditors for year-end audits.
- Prepare special reports through data collection, analysis, and trend summaries.
- Perform technical accounting research.
- Prepare accounting reports and analysis for monthly finance reporting.
- Prepare quarterly and annual compliance reporting for the Board and financial institutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve financial data quality and timeliness.
- Support leadership with timely and meaningful financial analysis.
- Improve analytical capabilities and provide narratives on financial results.
- Support budgeting, reforecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Optimize systems and technology for speed, control, and efficiency.
- Mentor accounting staff and support development of junior team members.
