About the Team: The Development Fleet Operations team is responsible for the safe testing and operation of the newest technologies. As an Operations Specialist you will contribute to the daily driving and testing of autonomous trucks, own the safety of the operation, and provide feedback on system performance and behaviors while hauling commercial freight. Responsibilities: - Safely operate autonomous trucks on the public roads to support development testing and commercial pilot operations. - Haul commercial freight between customer locations and/or meet points. - Provide feedback on system performance to advance self-driving technology. - Utilize internal tools on a smartphone/tablet to track work assigned and completed. - Uphold industry-leading safety standards, remaining compliant with internal benchmarks. - Remain alert and attentive while operating during extended stretches of autonomy. Qualifications & Safety Standards: - 7+ years of Class A driving experience. - Valid Class A CDL with Airbrake Endorsement and current DOT Medical Certificate. - Strictly clean MVR with no history of reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or license suspensions/revocations. - No moving violations within the last 7 years, including speeding, running red lights/stop signs, failure to yield, tailgating, improper turns/lane changes, distracted driving, seat belt violations, or unlawful passing. - Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and sleep apnea screening. This role is based in Lancaster, TX and will have some limited travel required. In this role, you will: - Communicate with multiple Operations team members in an energetic and courteous manner. - Manage and update information within the company's Truck Management System. - Create and maintain SOP documentation for operations processes. - Develop and improve monitoring and auditing of fleet issues, providing technical insights to the engineering team on key issues and suggested improvements. - Assist with AV system setup, including cross-checks through checklists and required health checks. What you'll bring: - Ability to work under high-stress situations while exercising good judgment. - Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with experience debugging and working within complex systems. - Knowledge of Google Office tools such as spreadsheets, docs, and drive. - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask. - Comfort working in Linux-based systems and basic computer networking, including experience using Linux command line tools and demonstrating common Linux commands. - Availability to work nights and weekends.
