Senior People (HR) Operations Manager
Senior • On-site
141,000 - 171,000 USD/yr
New York, NY
Monstro is the operating system for governed financial intelligence. We build governance and intelligence infrastructure that enables artificial intelligence to operate safely, explainably, and at institutional scale.
We exist because the level of financial guidance historically available to a small group should be accessible to many more people. By combining AI with deep institutional infrastructure, we help financial institutions deliver more personalized, responsible, and life-changing financial support to millions of individuals.
We're building mission-critical systems in a highly regulated domain, and we care deeply about doing it right. If you're motivated by meaningful problems, high standards, and shaping infrastructure that improves financial outcomes, you'll feel at home here.
About the Role
This is a hands-on Senior People (HR) Operations Manager role at the heart of a fast-moving BankingTech AI company that's genuinely changing how financial guidance reaches people. You'll be the engine behind our US People function — the person who makes sure the foundations are solid, the processes run smoothly, and employees have a great experience at every stage of their journey with us.
We're building our People function the way the best AI Labs do — lean, intentional, and high-impact. That means thoughtful org design, a culture built on trust and performance, and operations that actually work. You'll be central to making that real in the US.
You'll work closely with our Global Head of Talent & People Growth and report data/metrics directly to our Executive team. This isn't a strategy-from-a-distance role — you'll be hands-on in the detail, owning the work, and helping build an environment where people do the best work of their careers.
No two days look the same. You might be sorting a multi-state payroll query in the morning, onboarding a new engineer in the afternoon, and drafting a policy update before the day is done.
What You'll Own
HR Operations & Compliance
- Run and improve the US HR infrastructure via Rippling, serving as the lead for all HR Rippling matters — including implementation and the full cycle of the Rippling People platform
- Own and maintain employment documentation, policy frameworks, and compliance processes across all states where we operate
- Keep the full employee lifecycle running smoothly and compliantly — from offer letters and onboarding through to off-boarding
- Manage and support your People Operations team member
People Support
- Be the first point of contact for employee queries — benefits, policies, payroll, and everything in between
- Handle employee relations matters with good judgment, appropriate care, and in accordance with US and state employment legislation
- Make sure employees feel supported and that the basics are always done well — because a high-performing culture starts with trust
Employee Engagement & Performance
- Help run Performance Collaboration Conversations, goal-setting processes, and feedback programs in close partnership with the Talent & People Growth team
- Own the new joiner experience through 30/60/90 data and insight, turning what you learn into meaningful initiatives that improve engagement and set people up to perform from day one
- Lead efficiencies and speed using AI tooling to keep people data and systems accurate and up to date, using it to spot trends and inform decisions
Culture, People Engagement & Experience
- Support the delivery of culture and engagement initiatives that reinforce our values and raise the bar on what it feels like to work here
- Help coordinate the development of employees, manager toolkits, and internal communications that equip people to grow and perform at their best
Compensation & Governance
- Support compensation administration, market benchmarking data pulls, and off-cycle review processes
- Maintain pay and HR governance records accurately and in line with company standard operating procedures
What We're Looking For
- 5–8 years of HR experience, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth, or tech environment
- AI Labs, Foundation Model Companies, Fintech, BankingTech, or regulated industry experience is a strong plus
- Strong operational depth in payroll, compliance, benefits, and systems
- Experience working across multiple US states
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-scaling business
- Hands-on experience with modern People platforms, including Rippling and AI-powered People tools
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus
Benefits
- Competitive salary and equity
- Health, vision, dental, and disability coverage
- Opportunity to shape AI-powered finance products used globally
- High-impact, fast-paced work environment
Base Compensation Range (New York City): $141,000 - $171,000
Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, internal leveling, and market conditions.

Monstro
Brand Designer
Mid
On-site
New York, NY
110,004 - 150,000 USD/yr
🏢 Summary: Brand Designer role at an early-stage AI company focused on building and scaling a trusted visual identity across digital, marketing, sales, and event experiences. The position involves owning brand systems, designing web and campaign assets, and adapting creative direction for US and Middle East markets in collaboration with product, engineering, and leadership teams. 🗂️ Requirements: 2.5+ years of experience in Brand, Visual, Graphic, UX/UI, Product, or Interactive Design, Portfolio demonstrating brand identity, digital product, and marketing design work, Experience translating brand strategy into visual systems, Experience designing for global or multi-market audiences, Ability to work in startup or high-growth environments, Collaboration experience with product, marketing, and leadership teams, Strong typography, layout, color, and motion design skills 📃 Skills: Figma, UX, UI, Typography, Layout, Motion, Branding, GraphicDesign, WebDesign, VisualDesign 🏢 Description: About Monstro Monstro is a governed AI platform for regulated financial institutions. We give banks and wealth managers a way to deliver trusted advice digitally — to every client, not just the top tier. Institutions already have the relationships, data, and context to understand each client. Monstro turns that understanding into advice. It gives every client the experience of a personal advisor: bringing together their full financial picture, identifying what matters, and delivering personalized guidance across investments, tax, retirement, insurance, legal, and more. For clients, that means clearer decisions, proactive support when life changes, and a better view of their financial lives. For institutions, it means deeper relationships, more clients served consistently, and more of each client's financial life managed in one place. What makes this possible is how the system is built. Every recommendation reflects the institution's own views, policies, and permissions. Every output is auditable, traceable, and reversible, and client data stays under the institution's control. Generative AI shapes how advice is designed; at runtime, execution is deterministic — so every output can be explained and stood behind, not just trusted. The Work We're building a category-defining company in one of the most important applications of AI. Just as importantly, we're building the brand that represents it. Design at Monstro isn't about making things look good. It's about creating trust. Every visual decision—from our website and investor materials to sales collateral, product marketing, and events—helps communicate who we are and why financial institutions should trust us with mission-critical technology. As one of our earliest design hires, you'll help define how Monstro shows up to customers, partners, investors, and future employees. You'll have meaningful ownership from day one, work directly with company leadership, and help build a visual identity that evolves alongside the company. About the Role We're looking for a Brand Designer who thrives in fast-moving startup environments and enjoys wearing multiple hats. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves building brands from the ground up, can move comfortably between strategy and execution, and enjoys bringing consistency across every customer touchpoint. A key part of this role is taking Monstro's brand into the US and Middle East markets — not by replicating what's been done before, but by challenging the status quo to find the boldest, most authentic representation of who we are in these new markets. You'll work across brand identity, web, marketing, sales enablement, recruiting, events, and digital experiences. One day you might be refining our website, the next designing investor materials, building launch assets for a product release, creating trade show graphics, or developing a new set of brand guidelines. This is an opportunity to become a true creative owner within an early-stage AI company where your work will be seen — and used — every day across the business. What You'll Own Brand Identity & Creative Systems - Help evolve and scale Monstro's visual identity across every touchpoint, with a focus on expanding our presence into the US and Middle East - Develop and maintain brand guidelines, templates, and design systems that ensure consistency as we grow across markets - Create thoughtful visual solutions that communicate trust, clarity, and technical excellence — adapted for cultural context, not just translated - Challenge conventional approaches to find the most compelling representation of our brand in each new market Digital & Web - Design and continuously improve our website and digital presence - Partner with Product and Engineering to create polished digital experiences that align with our brand - Support light UI and visual design work where appropriate Marketing & Go-to-Market - Design campaign assets across digital, email, social media, and product launches - Create compelling visuals that help tell Monstro's story across multiple channels and markets - Produce quick-turn creative assets while maintaining a consistently high quality bar Sales, Recruiting & Corporate Communications - Design presentations, investor materials, sales collateral, one-pagers, and recruiting assets - Support executive communications with polished, high-impact visual materials - Help elevate every external interaction with a consistent and professional brand experience Events & Physical Experiences - Design conference booths, signage, printed collateral, merchandise, and other physical brand materials - Ensure our in-person presence reflects the same quality and consistency as our digital experience, including at regional events in the US and Middle East What We're Looking For - 2.5+ years of experience across Brand, Visual, Graphic, UX/UI, Product, or Interactive Design, ideally within a startup or high-growth technology company - A strong portfolio demonstrating range across brand identity, digital product, and campaign or marketing design - Proven ability to translate brand strategy into compelling visual systems — from brand guidelines to UI components to interactive experiences - Experience designing for global or multi-market audiences, with an understanding of how cultural context shapes visual language, tone, and user experience - A track record of challenging convention rather than defaulting to industry norms - Comfort working in ambiguity and shaping direction from the ground up - Strong collaboration skills, with experience partnering closely with product, marketing, and leadership to align design decisions with business goals - Excellent craft and attention to detail across typography, layout, color, and motion Why Monstro? - Ownership & Impact: Shape the future of AI-powered finance—building a category-defining product used by consumers and institutions around the world. - Experienced Team: Join a team with leadership that has a track record of scaling companies from early stage to major exits. - Principles-Driven Culture: Work in a culture that values speed, ownership, and impact. - Comprehensive Compensation Package: Competitive salary, equity, and robust benefits package, including paid health, vision, dental, and disability coverage. Base Compensation Range for New York City: $110,000 - $150,000 A Note on Interviewing: We sometimes use AI note-takers to help us transcribe interview notes, so we can be more present in your interview.
