This role works closely with multiple departments to coordinate outbound shipments, maintain shipping documentation, support warehouse operations, and assist in directing daily workflow within the shipping department. This is a hands-on position that combines shipping coordination, inventory accuracy, forklift operation, and team support to keep operations running efficiently. Responsibilities - Coordinate daily shipping activities to ensure customer and production requirements are met. - Create and distribute daily shipping manifests. - Collect completed work orders and packing slips from production departments. - Coordinate and oversee proper loading and unloading procedures. - Prepare bills of lading and schedule freight pickups. - Verify pallet counts and inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy, packaging, and quality. - Communicate shipping discrepancies, damages, or shortages to leadership for resolution. - Route completed shipping paperwork to the appropriate departments. - Investigate returned or refused shipments and document findings. - Evaluate packaging, warehousing, and loading processes to improve efficiency. - Assist with forklift operation and shipping activities as needed. - Coordinate daily workflow and assist with assigning work based on departmental priorities. - Provide direction and support to team members as needed. - Review completed work for accuracy and compliance with company procedures. - Assist other departments as needed to support production demands. Physical Requirements - Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility. - Ability to operate a computer and complete required documentation. - Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes, noise, dust, fumes, and odors. Qualifications - Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in shipping, supply management, logistics, or a related field. - Associate degree from a two-year technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Valid forklift certification. - Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedural documents. - Ability to prioritize work, coordinate multiple tasks, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to work occasional overtime as needed.
