Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Scribe/Medical Assistant to support Providers with real-time documentation, patient interaction summaries, paperwork, referral letters, and medical record data entry. This is a non-exempt (hourly) role scheduled 8am–5pm Monday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Intake
- Greet and prepare patients for examination and collect relevant health information.
- Assist with physical exams and provider instructions.
Medical Recordkeeping & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with patient education on treatment plans and prescriptions.
- Schedule appointments and manage insurance documentation.
EHR & Documentation Support
- Document patient encounters in real time during office visits.
- Record patient history, exam findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Use correct medical terminology, abbreviations, and codes.
- Ensure provider notes are completed and signed in the EHR.
- Assist with prior authorizations as needed.
Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Administer prescribed treatments, including allergy/immunotherapy injections.
- Educate patients and families on immunotherapy protocols.
- Monitor and document vital signs and treatment responses.
Procedures & Testing
- Assist with skin testing, patch testing, and pulmonary function testing.
- Calibrate and operate pulmonary function testing equipment.
Clinical Operations & Documentation
- Maintain clean, stocked exam and injection rooms.
- Document vitals, test results, and care summaries in the EHR.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of relevant experience.
- Certification or training in medical assisting (CMA, RMA, or similar) preferred.
- BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Proficiency in EHR systems and medical software.
- Strong computer literacy and typing skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Compensation
The hourly range for this position is $21.50–25.00 per hour, based on skills, education, and experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and move throughout the clinic for extended periods; occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.; frequent use of hands for patient care and equipment operation; normal (or corrected) vision and hearing required.
