Trauma Surgery Opportunity at Level II Trauma Center in Wisconsin

Description
Marshfield Medical Center is seeking a .75 FTE BC/BE fellowship-trained Trauma Surgeon to join an established 7-member Trauma Surgery section. This is an acute care trauma service model covering all aspects of acute care surgery, critical care, and trauma at a Level II Trauma Center with 24/7 in-house trauma attending coverage.
During the day, one trauma surgeon/surgical intensivist or critical care intensivist staffs the SICU, one surgeon staffs the Acute Care Surgical Service, and one surgeon is dedicated to trauma patients on the floor and trauma activations. At night, one trauma surgeon covers the SICU, Acute Care Surgical Service, and Trauma, with 4–5 night shifts per month. Back-up for the night trauma surgeon is provided by a day trauma surgeon. ICU and trauma services are supported by allied health providers. The acute care surgical service includes surgical resident supervision.
The ideal candidate will have completed a Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Fellowship and be board certified/board eligible in Surgical Critical Care through the American Board of Surgery. An interest in participating in trauma research is required. Physicians are strongly encouraged to be involved in medical education.
