Role Description

As Staff Product Manager, API & Developer Ecosystem, you will own the vision, strategy, and success of the API gateway platform and the developer ecosystem built on top of it. This includes defining and driving the roadmap for USP (TR-369) and TR-181 data model–based interfaces, API gateway architecture, and tooling that enables ISP and third-party developers to build, test, and deploy integrations at scale across millions of connected homes. You will serve as a WiFi domain expert, standards authority, platform product leader, and developer advocate, authoring and reviewing data model schemas and leading cross-functional execution.

Responsibilities

  • Define and prioritize the product roadmap for the API gateway, USP (TR-369) controller interfaces, and TR-181 data model extensions.
  • Build and scale an external developer program including portals, documentation, sandbox environments, and sample cookbooks.
  • Represent the organization in BBF and related standards bodies; author and extend TR-181 objects and USP specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering, firmware, cloud, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to deliver cohesive API products.
  • Ensure ISP and developer requirements drive platform decisions.
  • Define API adoption metrics and developer engagement KPIs; iterate using data-driven insights.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • 8+ years in technical product management, platform engineering, or developer relations in broadband or connected-home industry.
  • Strong knowledge of USP (TR-369), TR-069, and TR-181 data models with schema authoring or review experience.
  • Hands-on experience with API gateway platforms, RESTful and event-driven APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, and Postman.
  • Proficiency with git workflows, configuration-as-code, and cookbook-style templates (Chef, Ansible).
  • Participation in standards bodies such as BBF, IETF, or IEEE.
  • Experience building or scaling external developer ecosystems or API platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of WiFi standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), RF fundamentals, roaming, mesh, band steering, and QoS.
  • Current CWNA certification required; advanced certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and iterative development.
  • Experience managing API versioning, backward compatibility, rate limiting, performance, reliability, and security.
  • Work authorization required; sponsorship not available.

  • Base salary range: $159,000.00 - $185,000.00 plus bonus and equity.
