Quick Facts

  • Home Office: Jackson, MI; Kalamazoo, MI; Grand Rapids, MI; Saginaw, MI
  • Schedule: Four days per week with an every other weekend rotation
  • In office: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Lunch: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. or 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Remote: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Pay Range: $18—$22 USD

Key Responsibilities

The Triage Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all after-hours calls, after-hours orders, and communication with on-call providers, patients, facilities, and families for Physician Services. Responsibilities are completed with limited supervision and require initiative, creative problem resolution, time management, and excellent phone and electronic communication skills.

  • Communicate significant findings, problems, and changes in condition to primary care providers and care teams
  • Perform effectively under stress and in emergency situations
  • Assume primary responsibility for after-hours planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information in accordance with policy
  • Answer after-hours calls and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Provide support and direction to staff, health care professionals, patients, and families

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a medical field or medical office
  • Ability to operate computer equipment, fax, and photocopy machines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • CNA or MA certification preferred
  • Experience with geriatric population and/or caregivers preferred
  • Familiarity with Ethizo EMR preferred
