The Role
The Fire Protection Engineer designs fire protection systems for a variety of projects including airports, educational institutions, municipal, healthcare, government, hospitality, and mining facilities.
Responsibilities
- Consult and collaborate with clients to understand project vision
- Interpret architectural design plans and research appropriate protection systems
- Utilize engineering design software to develop suppression, sprinkler, smoke detection, and alarm systems
- Perform hydraulic calculations, fire detection design, fire pump and water storage tank design, and code analysis
- Conduct fire-resistant construction analysis
- Perform existing sprinkler system inspections
- Research fire protection and life safety concepts and equipment to support design
- Partner with Operations Manager to identify and pursue new business opportunities
Your Strengths
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- NICET Level III or IV certification required
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure preferred or ability to obtain after hire
