ABOUT IN GROUPE
A specialist in identity, secure transactions, and digital services, IN Groupe is the global leader in secure identity and trust services. Every day, our 4,000 employees across 40 countries work to ensure that everyone has access to a reliable and secure identity, both in the physical and digital worlds. With our solutions and our international network of 10 R&D centers, we support governments and businesses in more than 130 countries.
Joining IN Groupe means helping to shape the future of the identity and secure transaction market. Become part of our international teams — driven by innovation and proud to design solutions that make life easier and protect personal data for millions of people around the world.
ABOUT THE TEAM
You will join a team of experienced specialists dedicated to delivering secure, stable, and high‑quality digital identity solutions. Reliability and IT security are at the heart of everything we build — from applied cryptography to user‑facing authentication flows. The team works in a collaborative Scrum setup, bringing together architects, developers, business analysts, testers, a Product Owner, and other key stakeholders. Together, we design and deliver enhancements and updates to the MitID platform.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Software Tester, you will play a key role in shaping new features by analyzing business logic changes and contributing to solution design. This position requires strong manual testing skills — approximately 50% of your work will be manual, and we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys and values this part of the craft.
You will own the end‑to‑end testing process across both frontend and backend, from identifying the test basis to designing test cases, executing tests, and monitoring progress. A significant part of the role involves maintaining and expanding our backend‑focused test automation, especially around API and functional testing — but we are not looking for automation‑only profiles.
You will test integrations, authentication flows, cryptographic operations, and backend components across multiple environments. You will perform both exploratory and structured testing, support deployments, and ensure high‑quality delivery throughout our CI/CD pipeline.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
End‑to‑end test analysis — analyzing business logic changes and contributing to feature design.
Owning the full test process for both frontend and backend, from test basis identification to execution monitoring.
Manual testing — performing structured and exploratory tests across UI and API layers.
Test automation maintenance with a focus on backend/API automation.
Designing and documenting test cases for frontend, backend logic, integrations, and service‑to‑service communication.
Writing and maintaining automated tests (Cucumber, ReadyAPI; basic Playwright knowledge is a plus).
Testing backend components across multiple environments, ensuring data integrity and stable service behavior.
Validating protocol flows, authentication logic, cryptographic operations, and backend configuration changes.
Root cause analysis and contributing to risk assessments of discovered defects.
Participating in deployments and release activities within the CI/CD pipeline.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical education in software testing or software development.
Minimum 5 years of testing experience, including strong manual testing skills.
Solid understanding of test processes, structured test design, and QA methodologies.
ISTQB Foundation certification (minimum).
Experience with Cucumber, ReadyAPI, and optionally Playwright.
Experience with multiple environments, backend endpoints, log analysis, and system monitoring.
Experience with API and UI testing.
Familiarity with REST, JSON, HTTP methods, authentication flows, or basic cryptographic concepts is an advantage.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum and with tools such as Jira and test management systems.

Your team The Lifecycle team is a product-aligned, customer-first engineering team owning onboarding, activation, and engagement experiences across IG's platform. We build and support the critical first-mile customer journey and ongoing engagement features - with an obsessive focus on reducing friction, improving conversion, and driving engineering excellence to ensure our systems are reliable, performant, and easy to change. Your role in the Team's Success Your primary responsibility will be to lead a small, high-performing engineering team – combining hands-on technical excellence with day-to-day leadership. You'll set technical direction for your domain, drive delivery of business-critical features, and ensure your team operates with an ownership mindset. You'll work as a hands-on practitioner who leads by example, spending significant time writing code while coaching others to grow into independent, self-sufficient engineers. You'll leverage AI-assisted development tools as a core part of your workflow — we expect engineering leaders to actively embrace AI to multiply their team's impact. Think and act like an owner – your leadership directly impacts our customers’ ability to achieve their financial goals. What you'll do Lead end-to-end delivery of features within your domain – from technical design through to production – taking accountability for performance, reliability, and business outcomes Stay hands-on with code, demonstrating high-quality engineering that embodies what a world-class engineer should be – your team learns from your example Coach and develop team members to become independent, self-sufficient engineers – everyone on your team should aspire to grow and operate autonomously Drive technical excellence and raise the bar across your team – set and enforce high standards for code quality, testing, observability, and documentation Partner with Product, Design and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions that champion the client and deliver real commercial value one iteration at a time Identify and escalate risks early, remove delivery blockers, and ensure your team delivers at pace without compromising quality Think big – proactively identify opportunities to improve systems, reduce complexity, and challenge the status quo rather than just maintaining things as they are Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate your team's delivery, improve code quality, and stay at the cutting edge of modern engineering practices You'll need to be willing to commit to an on-call support rota - on-call time is compensated (This is a Full Time employment contract, not B2B) What you'll need for this role For this role, we're looking for someone with: Extensive software engineering experience with a strong track record of technical delivery and informal leadership – you've been the go-to person others turn to for guidance Deep expertise in your core technology stack, particularly Front End expertise in React/React Native – you know when to use the right tool and how to make it sing Battle-tested experience building and operating production systems – you've been on-call when something breaks at night and lived to tell the tale Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop other engineers – you get genuine satisfaction from helping others grow Experience with AI-assisted development tools is expected – we're looking for technical leaders who see AI as a force multiplier, not a threat Whilst a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering would be useful, we value real world practical experience. If you’re an excellent engineering leader then do apply! An ownership mindset that borders on obsessive – you treat every system with care and a focus on the best customer experience possible in terms of speed, reliability, intuitiveness and functionality, and you hold others to the same standard An AI-positive mindset – you see AI tools as amplifiers of engineering capability, not replacements, and you're excited to push the boundaries for you and your team of what's possible with AI-assisted development Strong commitment to engineering excellence: TDD, pairing, code reviews, and continuous improvement are how you operate, not boxes you tick Strong English-language communication skills and the ability to work effectively in globally distributed, cross-functional teams – you can explain complex technical concepts simply Keen interest in ongoing learning, both business and technical – you'll gain deep understanding of IG's trading products and financial markets, and share this knowledge with others Familiarity with financial services or trading platforms is highly desirable but not essential — curiosity and learning ability matter more Willingness to participate in on-call rotation — because you build it, you run it, you love it This is a hybrid position (3 days onsite, 2 days remote work) How we work We try to take a thoughtful approach to our ways of working as a company. We follow a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office -- which we think balances the need to collaborate effectively and connect with each other.
