ABOUT THE TEAM

You’ll join a team of experienced and dedicated colleagues who share a strong commitment to delivering secure, stable, and high-quality digital identity solutions. At MitID, reliability and IT security are at the core of everything we build, ranging from applied cryptography to user-facing authentication flows. The team works in a collaborative Scrum setup with architects, developers, business analysts, testers, a Product Owner, and other key stakeholders. Together, we design and deliver enhancements and updates to the MitID platform.


ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will help shape new features by analyzing business logic changes and contributing to solution design. You will own the end‑to‑end testing process across frontend and backend, from test basis identification to structured execution and monitoring. A key focus is maintaining and expanding our backend‑focused test automation setup, including API and functional tests. You will design and document test cases, validate integrations, authentication flows, and cryptographic operations, and perform both exploratory and structured testing. Additionally, you will support deployments and ensure high‑quality delivery throughout our CI/CD pipeline.


MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

  • Take part in analysis of changes to business logic and contribute to the design of new features

  • Take responsibility for the end-to-end test process for both frontend and backend from identifying the test basis, over test case design, to setting up the test set structure and monitoring the execution progress

  • Maintaining, improving, and expanding our test automation setup, with a focus on backend/API automation.

  • Designing and documenting test cases for both frontend as well as backend logic, integrations, and service‑to‑service communication.

  • Writing and maintaining automated tests, including functional tests in Cucumber and REST/API tests in ReadyAPI.

  • Testing backend components across multiple environments, ensuring data integrity and reliable service behavior.

  • Validating protocol flows, authentication logic, cryptographic operations, and backend configuration changes.

  • Execute both exploratory and structured tests

  • Analysing test results, identifying root causes, and contributing to risk assessments of discovered defects.

  • Participating in deployments and release activities, ensuring quality throughout the CI/CD pipeline.


REQUIREMENTS

  • A technical education within software testing or software development

  • Min. 5 years of testing experience, and hands on knowledge about test processes, test design techniques and risk-based testing

  • Strong understanding of test processes, structured test design, and QA methodologies

  • ISTQB Foundation certification as a minimum

  • Experience with test automation tools such as Cucumber, Selenium/Appium (if used for API test orchestration), and ReadyAPI

  • Experience working with multiple environments, backend endpoints, log analysis, and system monitoring during tests

  • Experience with agile development and Scrum

  • Experience with Jira and test management tools

  • Knowledge of REST, JSON, HTTP methods, authentication flows, or cryptographic concepts is a plus

Improve observability, monitoring, and cost efficiency with dashboards and alerts. Document architecture, decisions, and patterns clearly.
