Description

Under the supervision of the IT Associate, this part-time role designs, develops, and maintains the LaGuardia & Wagner Archives website and mobile applications to align with brand and improve user experience. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining an ASP.NET website, customizing WordPress themes/templates/plugins, troubleshooting web performance/security/UX, and building iOS and Android apps that communicate with web services. You will also maintain web services and databases that feed data to the mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain the ASP.NET Archives website for high performance and responsiveness
• Develop and customize WordPress themes, templates, and plugins using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Troubleshoot and resolve website performance, security, and user experience issues
• Develop mobile applications for iOS and Android to deliver archive information to users
• Use mobile and web programming languages (including Objective-C, Java, VB.NET or C#, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and web services) to build mobile applications
• Apply object-oriented concepts and software development methods
• Maintain web services and databases feeding data to mobile apps using ASP.NET, PHP, and MS SQL Server

Requirements

• Meet one of the minimum qualifications tiers (Level 1–3) based on education plus full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
• Demonstrated English language proficiency sufficient to speak, read, write, and understand English for job tasks
• Part-time related work experience is credited only when at least 20 hours/week
• If required for certain positions, maintain a valid New York State Motor Vehicle Driver License
