Description

You will lead and mentor AI/ML engineers and set technical direction for Voice AI capabilities used across healthcare operations. The role establishes foundational speech/NLP capabilities (e.g., language translation, accent harmonization, real-time transcription) and delivers reusable, scalable, secure, and HIPAA-compliant enterprise prototypes through production engineering. You will also partner on solution architecture, estimates, roadmap alignment, and enterprise standards for external AI vendor evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor AI/ML engineers; define technical direction and engineering standards

• Design, build, and deploy responsible Voice AI capabilities (speech handling, enhanced ASR, bilingual switching, slurred speech recognition, dynamic personality, multimodal/multicloud interactions)

• Convert real-time transcription and speech processing advances into scalable, reusable production capabilities

• Partner on solution architecture, cost estimation, and roadmap alignment across modern and legacy technology stacks

• Embed ethical AI and HIPAA-compliant security standards across the model development lifecycle

• Implement advanced engineering features for patient-agent workflows (dynamic interactive forms, adaptive updates, conditional logic)

• Define enterprise standards for evaluating and vetting external AI vendors

• Use enterprise-approved AI tools to automate workflows and drive continuous improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical field

• 10+ years of software engineering experience building and deploying production-grade AI/ML models and systems

• 4+ years of experience developing applications leveraging LLMs, LLM workflows, agentic AI, evaluation techniques, and observability platforms

• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams, mentoring engineers, defining technical standards, and driving solution architecture

• Experience with Python, backend services, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines for scalable, secure, production-ready solutions
