Description

Deliver GitLab Professional Services engagements to help customers adopt GitLab successfully, including installation, migration, training, and advisory. Lead work from single-node Omnibus installs to reference architectures built with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code, and guide migrations to GitLab SaaS or self-managed deployments. Partner with product and engineering teams to unblock customer outcomes, share feedback, and continuously improve service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional services across GitLab capabilities (installation, migration, training, advisory)

• Plan and execute deployments from Omnibus to IaC/Configuration-as-Code reference architectures

• Lead migrations from source systems to GitLab SaaS or self-managed GitLab

• Partner with Engagement Managers and Project Managers to improve delivery consistency

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor translating customer goals into implementation plans

• Interface with product and engineering to remove blockers and share customer feedback

• Mentor Associate and Intermediate Professional Services Engineers

• Manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously as lead or primary engineer

Requirements

• Professional exposure with one or more IaC/Configuration-as-Code technologies (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, Chef)

• Professional exposure with two or more cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)

• Experience using, deploying, or configuring GitLab, with a solid understanding of Git and source control workflows

• Experience delivering customer-facing services across GitLab’s feature set

• Proven ability to independently manage one or more projects and lead others on complex engagements

• Strong English communication (written and verbal) for remote, asynchronous collaboration

• Solution-oriented approach: identify root causes, propose options/tradeoffs, drive issues to resolution

• Ability to work effectively fully remotely with strong documentation and asynchronous collaboration

• Base salary range (US): $140,400–$210,600 USD (bonuses/equity/benefits not included)
