Description

Provide inpatient medical care for hospitalized patients, including consultations, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, and management of an average daily census of ~15 patients. Coordinate care transitions and support swing bed and ICU/swing bed patient needs as applicable, maintaining EMR records and ordering/interpreting diagnostics. Work with multidisciplinary teams to support safe, patient-centered outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions in the inpatient setting

• Manage ICU patients and perform critical care procedures as needed

• Respond to codes when needed

• Oversee swing bed program coverage

• Develop and communicate treatment plans

• Collaborate with nursing, specialists, patients, and families on inpatient care and discharge planning

• Provide occasional consult support for CRNA care as needed

• Maintain EMR records; order and interpret diagnostics

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited institution

• Active California medical license or ability to obtain

• Board certification required

• Minimum 2 years of hospitalist experience

• Experience managing inpatient and ICU patients

• Ability to perform procedures in the critical care setting as needed
