• Role: Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician (inpatient-only, in-house Labor & Delivery coverage)
• Shifts: Two weekday shifts + two weekend shifts per week; day and night coverage; night shift availability required
• Setting: High-volume Labor & Delivery (~1,200 deliveries annually; average daily census ~20)
• Team model: Works with PAs and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) providing 24/7 unit coverage

Description

Board-Certified OB/GYN physicians provide scheduled, in-house inpatient Labor & Delivery coverage on a locum tenens assignment. Coverage includes postpartum care, emergent GYN OR cases, and emergency department consults, with assistance from a strong APP and CNM support model. This is not clinic-based and not an on-call position.

Responsibilities

• Labor & Delivery coverage
• Postpartum care
• Manage emergent GYN OR cases
• Handle emergency department consults
• Collaborate with PAs and CNMs for admissions, H&Ps, orders, and first assist in cesarean sections and GYN OR cases

Requirements

• Board Certified OB/GYN
• MD degree
• Active Massachusetts Medical License
• Flu vaccination required (no waivers or exceptions)
• Willingness and ability to work night shifts
• Comfortable managing inpatient OB/GYN care independently
