Description

Design target-state analytical and enterprise data models on GCP to support Data Quality monitoring. Analyze the existing solution’s data structures and integration points, define modeling standards and reusable patterns in dbt Core, and collaborate with Data Engineers and Test Engineers during implementation and validation. Document models and design decisions while ensuring alignment with business and Data Quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the current Data Quality monitoring solution (data structures, relationships, dependencies, integration points)

• Design target-state analytical and enterprise data models for Data Quality monitoring in GCP

• Define data structures, modeling patterns, and development standards within dbt Core

• Contribute to the design of the target cloud-native monitoring architecture

• Establish consistent data modeling standards, naming conventions, and reusable patterns

• Define integration principles between the Data Quality solution and other data platform components

• Map legacy data structures and processes to the target architecture

• Identify modeling gaps, dependencies, and migration risks

• Collaborate with Business Analysts to ensure target models reflect business and Data Quality requirements

• Work closely with Data Engineers to translate models into scalable data solutions

• Collaborate with Test Engineers for model validation, reconciliation, and testing

• Review implemented data structures to ensure alignment with agreed models and standards

• Contribute to technical, architectural, and maintenance documentation

• Create and maintain data model documentation, mapping specifications, data dictionaries, and modeling guidelines

• Communicate design decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

• Extensive senior-level experience in Data Modeling

• Proven experience designing analytical or enterprise data models

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform

• Practical experience with dbt Core (model structures, dependencies, development standards)

• Strong knowledge of SQL-based data environments

• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures

• Good understanding of Data Quality concepts, controls, and monitoring solutions

• Ability to analyze an existing data architecture and design a clear, scalable target-state model

• Experience supporting data migration or transformation initiatives

• Experience collaborating closely with Data Engineering teams

• Ability to define and document data modeling standards, naming conventions, and integration principles

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

• Ability to create clear technical and maintenance documentation

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of data modeling decisions

• Fluent English

• Practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to improve productivity and quality in analytical and documentation work

• Work from the European Union region and hold a work permit
