THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a GCP Data Engineer to contribute to the migration and modernization of a Data Quality monitoring solution, moving from a legacy environment to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and dbt Core.

You’ll develop data pipelines and ELT processes, implement data quality controls, and help ensure that data is accurate, consistent, and ready for business use. Working closely with data modelers, business analysts, and test engineers, you’ll contribute to a solution that combines cloud technologies with robust data validation practices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Build and maintain data pipelines and ELT processes.

• Implement Data Quality metrics and controls using dbt Core.

• Migrate existing Data Quality controls from legacy systems to a modern cloud environment.

• Prepare mappings between existing and target solutions.

• Develop data validation controls using Google BigQuery.

• Build repositories for Data Quality monitoring results.

• Integrate data solutions with GCP platform services.

• Optimize the performance of Data Quality executions.

• Support technical and business testing activities.

• Prepare and maintain technical and operational documentation.

• Collaborate with Data Modelers, Business Analysts, and Test Engineers to deliver reliable data solutions.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Experience as a Mid-level or Senior Data Engineer.

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines.

• Practical knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data transformation.

• Strong SQL skills.

• Experience working with modern data platforms.

• Experience with data migration and transformation activities.

• Understanding of Data Quality monitoring concepts and validation processes.

• Experience with system integrations and data processing workflows.

• Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Hands-on experience with BigQuery.

• Experience working with dbt Core.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience migrating legacy data solutions to cloud environments.

• Background in banking or other regulated industries.

• Familiarity with data testing and validation practices.

• Experience preparing technical documentation.
