Description

You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions across the Azure Data Platform ecosystem (including Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Lakehouse environments). You will implement and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, build Databricks workflows with Delta Live Tables, and support modernization and migration efforts such as Unity Catalog adoption. You will also ensure data quality, reliability, performance, and security, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to CI/CD and operational best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions in Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Lakehouse environments

• Implement and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and data serving across business domains

• Develop data processing solutions using Python, SQL, and Apache Spark

• Support migration/modernization: Unity Catalog adoption, platform upgrades, and data platform transformations

• Build and maintain Databricks workflows and Delta Live Tables (DLT) orchestration and metadata-driven frameworks

• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical solutions

• Ensure data quality, reliability, performance, and security

• Troubleshoot production incidents with root cause analysis and corrective actions

• Contribute to CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and logging

• Optimize pipelines, storage structures, and processing workloads to improve efficiency and reduce costs

• Participate in solution/architecture reviews and promote engineering standards and governance

• Support knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team

• Work with Data Architects and platform teams to align with enterprise data architecture and governance

• Support reporting, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives via reliable, scalable data foundations

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of commercial Databricks experience

• English level B2+ or higher

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently with ownership and accountability

• Proactive approach to identifying risks, blockers, and improvement opportunities

• Strong communication and stakeholder management across technical and business teams

• Experience in dynamic environments with frequently changing priorities

• Ability to deliver results despite incomplete requirements

• Cross-functional team experience

• Understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and operational excellence

• Ability to thrive with a relatively low level of formal processes
