• Staff Physician role supporting the Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders (SCI/D) Center with inpatient rehabilitation beds and acute-care beds.

Description

Provide evidence-based medical care to Veterans with SCI/D in inpatient and outpatient settings, including admission, evaluation, diagnosis, and comprehensive medical management. Coordinate care across specialties, supervise and perform procedures within credentialed scope, and provide interdisciplinary clinical leadership and guidance for rehabilitation treatment planning. Participate in rotating weekend/evening/holiday call coverage and contribute to conferences, family meetings, and the academic mission through teaching and mentoring.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship (with limited exceptions)
• MD or equivalent degree (allopathic or osteopathic) from a VA-approved institution
• Current, full, unrestricted medical license
• Completed accredited residency training leading to board certification eligibility (or meet defined alternatives)
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Subject to background/security investigation
• Pass pre-employment physical evaluation
• Complete onboarding and pre-employment requirements (including drug screening where applicable)
• Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program
• 2-year trial period with written certification for continued employment
