Description

You will provide analysis, validation, processing, and correction of financial transactions across pay, accounts payable, travel entitlements, and related adjustments. The role requires using interrelated financial, personnel, and computer file systems to ensure disbursements, collections, and adjustments are valid and accurate, including complex and sensitive cases. You will apply fiscal laws, policies, and regulations to resolve discrepancies, perform reconciliations, and recommend systemic improvements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct broad and in-depth financial analysis across interrelated accounting, logistics, and computer file systems
• Validate and resolve complex pay, travel, and accounts payable issues, including unusual circumstances and incomplete data
• Research, interpret, and apply fiscal laws, regulations, precedent decisions, and procedures to determine proper action
• Resolve tax processing problems tied to soldier inquiries and audit/review findings (e.g., PCS, combat tax exclusion pay, erroneous tax refunds)
• Analyze and resolve reconciliation discrepancies (e.g., EFT rejects, pay/personnel/travel mismatches) including calculation of interest
• Act as technical authority for complicated actions across multiple financial systems and entitlement types
• Interpret user requirements to design ad hoc reports or modify financial/management systems
• Research and apply DoD/DA/ForSCOM/NGB/DFAS regulations, Standing Operating Procedures, and Comptroller General decisions

Requirements

• National Guard membership required (compatible military assignment in the National Guard)
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance
• Direct deposit participation mandatory
• Must be able to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required
• Eligible military rank/grade: PVT/E-1 through SSG/E6
• Specialized experience required; resume must detail how experience matches requirements with dates
• DoD Financial Management Level 1 certification required as a condition of employment (failure to obtain within required time may lead to adverse action)
