Description

Serve as a senior accounting professional ensuring compliant federal financial reporting and financial management oversight. You will prepare and review financial statements under Federal GAAP and produce required reporting submissions, while providing technical guidance on complex accounting policy and issues. You will also support the annual financial statement audit and assess internal controls over financial reporting and related IT controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements in accordance with Federal GAAP
• Prepare/review federal reporting submissions (CARS, GTAS, PIIA, Data Act) for Treasury/OMB
• Execute accounting and financial management functions, including reporting oversight and accounting policy development
• Serve as a senior subject-matter expert for accounting policies, methods, and practices
• Formulate solutions for unusual and complex accounting issues
• Support the annual financial statement audit
• Research, recommend, and document solutions for complex accounting issues
• Formulate, develop, and manage accounting and financial management policies, procedures, and directives
• Perform and document assessments of internal controls over financial reporting and related IT controls per OMB Circular A-123

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and successful completion of a background/security investigation
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level
• CT-14 level qualifications using required education and/or specialized experience
• Accounting education meeting the semester-hour requirements OR an equivalent combination of education and experience (including specified coursework/certifications)
• Selective Service registration (for eligible males)
• Possible one-year probationary period and compliance with time-in-grade requirements, if applicable
