Description

Build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend applications using Node.js. Design and implement RESTful APIs (and GraphQL services where applicable), integrate databases and external APIs, and write clean, well-documented code. Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance while collaborating with frontend and DevOps teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Node.js

• Design and implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL services (as applicable)

• Build integrations with databases, third-party services, and external APIs

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

• Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues

• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability

• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices

• Support deployment, monitoring, and continuous integration processes with DevOps teams

• Contribute to technical planning, architecture decisions, and documentation

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript

• Hands-on experience with Node.js and frameworks such as Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify

• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs

• Proficiency with relational or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis

• Understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and performance optimization

• Experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows

• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Chai

• Knowledge of software development life cycles, debugging, and code quality standards

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
