Description

Lead the maintenance, modernization, and ongoing evolution of a mission-critical, dealer-facing payment platform. Design, develop, and support backend services and APIs in a production environment while contributing to architecture and technical direction. Partner with product, operations, and business stakeholders to improve reliability, scalability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs for enterprise payment solutions

• Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, standups, retrospectives) and drive continuous improvement

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions

• Contribute to architecture, development, and operation of scalable microservices and distributed systems

• Apply best practices such as clean code, test-driven development, code reviews, and automated testing

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support production applications

• Contribute to the codebase while meeting coding standards and security requirements

Requirements

• 4+ years of software development with C# and the .NET framework

• Experience building REST APIs including Swagger/OpenAPI documentation, versioning, testing, and integration patterns

• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and modern engineering practices

• Relational database design, indexing, query optimization, and SQL development

• Test-driven development experience with xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest

• CI/CD and DevOps tools experience (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or SonarQube)

• Production service support and observability implementation (Datadog or equivalent)

• Containerization with Kubernetes and Docker

• Experience modernizing toward current .NET platforms, including .NET 8

• Problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Agile/Scrum or Extreme Programming (XP) environment experience
