Description

Senior Java Developer supporting the modernization of critical pricing and settlement systems in a banking environment. You will design and build pricing engine components, including cash flow generation and cash instruction/booking logic, while analyzing legacy applications for migration and refactoring opportunities. The work uses AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding and documentation, with a strong emphasis on correctness and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain pricing engine components, migrating legacy functionality to modern platforms

• Design and implement cash flow generation and cash instruction logic

• Analyze legacy applications/processes to define migration strategies and refactoring opportunities

• Use AI-assisted development tools (coding assistants and LLM-based analysis) to support development, migration, testing, and documentation

• Collaborate with business, product, QA, and infrastructure teams to implement accurate and compliant pricing, settlement, and booking logic

• Create clear, maintainable technical documentation

• Support testing, validation, deployment, and rollout with minimal impact on production environments

Requirements

• Hands-on experience implementing cash booking flows within a financial institution

• Ability to construct complete debit/credit booking instructions from business events and route them to downstream booking/ledger systems

• Strong development experience with Java 8+

• Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, SQL, and Oracle Database

• Banking/financial systems experience

• Understanding of cash flows, settlements, payment instructions, or related processes

• Practical experience with AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) and ability to validate AI output

• Experience with complex, rules-driven business logic

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; effective cross-functional teamwork

Preferred / Highly Valued

• Experience with account mapping, accounting parameters, financial message structures, booking validation processes

• Familiarity with ISO 20022

• Experience migrating from mainframe or other legacy platforms

• Experience with pricing engines, trade processing, or settlement platforms

• Experience building/customizing AI-assisted engineering workflows and development tooling
