Description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and scale production cloud data platforms. You will lead technical architecture decisions, implement scalable data pipelines and data models, and enforce best engineering practices for quality, lineage, observability, testing, automation, and documentation. The role emphasizes performance, cost efficiency, and reliability across distributed systems and integration with BI and ML layers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, production-grade data pipelines, data models, and data processing frameworks

• Lead the technical design of cloud data architectures and contribute to standards, guidelines, and long-term platform strategy

• Drive best practices: quality assurance, lineage, observability, testing, automation, and documentation

• Optimize data workflows for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability across distributed systems

• Collaborate with clients and senior stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate technical decisions

• Work with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and DataOps automation to streamline deployments and operations

• Integrate data solutions with BI, ML, and application layers

• Mentor mid-level engineers to support their technical growth (without formal line management)

• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and propose innovations to enhance platform capabilities

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or closely related engineering role

• 2+ years working with cloud platforms (primarily Azure; AWS/GCP experience valued)

• Strong Python skills for maintainable, production-ready distributed data code

• Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL)

• Expertise in DWH data modeling and ETL/ELT architectures (Lakehouse preferred)

• Solid understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, APIs, and scalable systems

• Experience working with large-scale, high-volume datasets

• Ownership mindset and ability to operate autonomously
