Description

You will manage the installation, operation, and administration of network environments, firewalls, and server systems (virtual and physical) for process control technology (including control systems) and associated transmission technology, following ISMS standards. You’ll implement and administer protective measures, handle system incidents, maintain technical documentation, and coordinate internal and external service providers. You’ll also advise other teams on IT topics and support special projects and the strategic further development and standardization of process control and transmission technology.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, and administer network environments, firewalls, and server systems (virtual and physical)

• Operate process control and transmission technology in traffic technology

• Implement measures to protect process control and transmission technology in line with ISMS standards

• Perform system administration tasks as a system operator, including troubleshooting system faults

• Create and maintain technical documentation for process control and transmission technology

• Coordinate internal and external service providers for system operations

• Provide cross-functional IT consulting using your domain knowledge

• Support special projects and strategic advancement/standardization of process control and transmission technology; ensure compliance with legal requirements

Requirements

• Completed degree in Computer Science or comparable field, or completed training as Fachinformatiker/in (Digital Networking)

• Several years of experience in IT systems operations

• Knowledge of Linux and Windows administration

• Advantageous: knowledge of operating database systems

• Knowledge of IT security

• Knowledge of fiber optic (lightwave) transmission technology

• Responsibility, communication skills, and strong teamwork

• Analytical, solution-oriented thinking; quick comprehension

• High care and reliability

• Willingness to join on-call duty

• Valid Class B driver’s license

• German language level of at least C2
