Description

You will operate, maintain, and improve production cloud infrastructure and applications hosted in AWS for railway operational processes. Responsibilities include AWS-based deployments, Kubernetes cluster operations, infrastructure as code, incident detection/analysis/handling, and operational automation. German proficiency (B2+) is required for technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and optimize production applications and AWS-hosted infrastructure
• Detect, analyze, and resolve incidents; participate in on-call rotations and conduct post-incident reviews
• Provision and manage infrastructure with Terraform/OpenTofu
• Configure, maintain, and optimize Kubernetes clusters and related tooling
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Helm, and GitOps workflows (Flux)
• Manage AWS security configurations (IAM roles, Secrets Manager, KMS)
• Support and troubleshoot PostgreSQL on AWS RDS in production
• Configure and enhance monitoring and logging with Grafana and OpenSearch
• Operate and optimize Kafka infrastructure using Amazon MSK
• Manage Kubernetes node scaling with Karpenter and optimize cloud resource usage
• Automate operational tasks and dependency updates using Python, AWS Lambda, and Renovate
• Create and maintain runbooks, operating procedures, and technical documentation
• Assess security findings and implement required patches, updates, and mitigations
