Description

You will monitor and optimize SQL Server performance across customer production environments. Responsibilities include resolving performance bottlenecks, tuning SQL queries and indexes, and defining/enforcing standards for database migrations and migration scripts with review before production releases. You’ll also support SQL Server deployments on Azure and on-premises/customer infrastructure, collaborating with international development teams and using AI tools for diagnostics and review.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize SQL Server performance in production

• Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks

• Optimize SQL queries and indexes

• Define and enforce standards for database migrations and migration scripts

• Review migration scripts before production releases

• Set up and interpret proactive database performance monitoring

• Analyze impact of application code and ORM layers on database performance

• Support SQL Server in Azure and on-premises/customer-hosted environments

• Collaborate with international development teams on database changes and release readiness

• Use AI tools for query analysis, schema review, migration script review, and performance diagnostics

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in SQL Server DBA / Database Engineering

• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft SQL Server

• Extensive experience with database migration tools/processes and migration scripts

• Advanced query optimization and index optimization

• Strong experience diagnosing performance issues in production environments

• Experience implementing proactive database performance monitoring

• Good understanding of ORM and how application code generates database load

• Experience with Azure-hosted SQL Server environments

• Experience with on-premises or customer-hosted SQL Server instances

• Practical experience using AI tools for query analysis, schema review, migration scripts, and performance diagnostics

• English at C1 level

• Ability to work independently and establish technical standards/processes
