Description

Own the complete delivery lifecycle of core product features across Next.js frontends, Python REST APIs, and event-driven background workers hosted on GCP. Define and enforce automation and quality standards—automated testing, orchestration, and CI/CD—while designing resilient worker processing with reliable failure handling. Build and operate integrations, data/storage, and production observability for distributed cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Feature ownership across Next.js, Python APIs, async workers, and GCP infrastructure.

• Set automation and quality standards using automated testing (Playwright, pytest) and workflow/job orchestration practices.

• Design and operate event-driven background workers using Pub/Sub, async queues, retry policies, and dead-letter handling.

• Integrate enterprise and internal systems via REST APIs, SSO/OAuth, and secure network boundaries.

• Design PostgreSQL schemas, manage migrations, operate object storage (GCS/S3), and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and GitHub Actions.

• Implement observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) to ensure production reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial fullstack experience with strong Python and solid TypeScript/React/Next.js skills.

• Experience with automated end-to-end/unit testing and workflow/job orchestration.

• Hands-on event-driven systems experience using messaging queues (GCP Pub/Sub or similar), async workers, retries, and failure handling.

• Strong REST API design skills and experience with SSO/OAuth plus secure network perimeters.

• SQL and data management experience (PostgreSQL schema design & migrations) and object storage (GCS/S3).

• Distributed observability experience (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) plus working knowledge of CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and IaC (Terraform).

• Ownership mindset and excellent problem-solving and communication across engineering, scientists, and business stakeholders.
