Description

You’ll join a cross-functional development team to build and run production AI agents and agent-facing tools. The role emphasizes designing agent behavior, sandboxing tool access, evaluating LLM features before release, and ensuring strong observability and reliability. You will also maintain infrastructure and CI/CD, and use AI-assisted engineering while reviewing AI-generated changes for security, correctness, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Build production AI agents using TypeScript services on AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Bedrock) with Strands or LangGraph and AI SDKs

• Define agent behavior: what the model investigates and what code enforces

• Sandbox agents with read-only runtimes, scoped tool access, and budget/timeout guards

• Evaluate AI features using golden sets and production replays; calibrate judges; gate releases on recall/precision/false-positive rate; compare models and effort

• Ensure observability with reason-coded metrics and structured logs; alert on failures; investigate misses using Splunk and VictoriaMetrics

• Run infrastructure with Terraform across environments and improve GitLab CI/CD for build/test/deploy and quality gates

• Build resilient integrations for retries, rate limits, permanent failures, and stale state

• Use AI to write/review code and keep agent context current

• Review AI-written changes for security, correctness, and maintainability

• Enable teams by configuring assistants, skills, hooks, and MCP servers; share proven practices

• Build agent-facing tools with React and APIs for summaries, dashboards, and internal tooling

• Document systems with architecture/sequence diagrams, runbooks, and decision records

Requirements

• Broad full-stack versatility and quick ramp-up across modern software stacks

• Strong production experience with modern React and TypeScript (including Node.js, async patterns, testing, and monorepo tooling)

• Working proficiency with Python for backend services, evaluations, analysis, and automation tooling

• Practical hands-on AWS experience across the ecosystem (Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Bedrock; plus containers like ECS/EKS, networking, compute, and IAM)

• Shipped production features using LLM APIs (prompts, tool calling, structured output, long context) and can explain the evaluation that gated releases

• Able to design and debug observability for non-deterministic systems using metrics/logs/alarms

• Hands-on Terraform usage and safe modification of configurations across environments

• Data experience with NoSQL and SQL stores, including schema changes and live migrations

• Proficiency with modern CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitLab CI/CD

• Fluent English communication to articulate trade-offs and align the team
