• Focus: End-to-end backend development and system modernization, with occasional frontend work

Description

You’ll modernize and extend a production platform by designing and developing backend services and APIs, implementing solutions, deploying them, and monitoring ongoing performance. You’ll work with databases, integrations, distributed systems, and AWS services, making decisions about reliability, security, observability, and cost. When needed, you’ll also handle frontend changes at the frontend–backend boundary using TypeScript and Preact.

Requirements

• Strong backend fundamentals and experience with production systems

• Ability to take a problem from analysis to a working solution independently

• Solid experience with APIs, integrations, databases, and system architecture

• Practical cloud experience (preferably AWS)

• Ability to take ownership of an existing system and evolve it based on its constraints

• Comfort making changes beyond backend, including frontend updates

• Ability to discuss trade-offs (time, quality, risk, costs, product impact)

• Clear communication of risks, dependencies, and consequences

• Constructive mindset to challenge solutions and propose better alternatives

• Interest in technology and ability to learn new areas effectively
