Description

You will join a strategic digital transformation program to create a modern platform for managing the insurance claims settlement process. This role combines hands-on architecture and development of a distributed microservices system using Java and Spring, along with strong technical leadership. You will ensure scalability, reliability, security, end-to-end observability, and API governance.

Responsibilities

• Design a new system from scratch for claims settlement workflows and document the system architecture

• Actively develop the system (agentic coding) within a microservices distributed architecture

• Act as Tech Lead / Architect in a Scrum team: support the team, set technical direction, and make architectural decisions

• Participate in feasibility analyses, delivery assumptions, and estimate engineering/architecture effort

• Set technology standards, ensure delivered code quality, and support operational and security requirements

• Assign development tasks, conduct code reviews, create technical documentation, mentor engineers, and develop team skills

• Lead architecture workshops, co-create technology roadmaps, and assess risks

• Design and oversee system integration, API governance, and performance/scalability

• Collaborate with the Product Owner and business to clarify requirements

• Use cloud and AI/agentic SDLC tools throughout the development process

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and overseeing system architecture

• Strong hands-on Java expertise with active Spring/Spring Boot development

• Practical experience building and evolving microservices architectures for scalable, secure, fault-tolerant distributed systems

• Very strong knowledge of architectural and integration patterns

• Experience with API governance principles and standards

• Experience designing integrations using Event-Driven Architecture

• Applied Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in system design

• Experience with relational databases and query optimization

• Practical experience designing and implementing end-to-end observability

• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure automation, and cloud

• Technical leadership experience: task assignment, technical team guidance, code review, mentoring, architecture workshops, roadmap contribution, and risk assessment

• English proficiency at least B2

• Experience in the insurance domain
