Description

Develop and maintain Java 21 / Spring Boot batch and microservices for performance-critical portfolio reporting platforms. Operate and tune an Apache Storm-based XPOS processing cluster, analyze and optimize SQL performance on Azure SQL Hyperscale, and lead root-cause analysis for production incidents. Support modernization by migrating mainframe batch jobs and DB2 data flows to Azure services and remediate open-source security findings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java 21 / Spring Boot batch and microservices, including framework and dependency upgrades.
• Operate, tune, and troubleshoot an Apache Storm-based XPOS processing cluster (worker balancing, restarts, alert tuning).
• Analyze and optimize SQL performance on Azure SQL Hyperscale (execution plans, indexing, query tuning, HA replica behavior), collaborating with Microsoft engineering/support.
• Migrate mainframe batch jobs and DB2 data flows to Azure (Hyperscale and Azure messaging) as part of modernization.
• Monitor nightly performance batch against service levels, perform production incident RCA, and remediate open-source security findings using Nexus IQ / SCA with appropriate risk sign-off.

Requirements

• Degree-level education (preferably Computer Science at bachelor’s or master’s level).
• Minimum 18 years of hands-on Java development experience (ideally in banking/financial services).
• Strong Java (17/21) and Spring Boot skills, including large framework upgrades (must have).
• Proven Azure SQL / SQL Server performance tuning experience, ideally Azure SQL Hyperscale, including execution plan analysis, fixing plan regressions, and addressing CPU bottlenecks (must have).
• Hands-on distributed/stream processing experience (Apache Storm, Kafka Streams, or Flink) (must have).
