Description

Translate requirements and acceptance criteria into technical designs that define system behavior, data flows, inter-system contracts, component responsibilities, and error handling. Analyze existing code and application behavior to validate solutions, collaborate with analysts/architects/developers during implementation, and troubleshoot performance issues with optimization recommendations. Use AI tools to analyze, design, and document changes while critically verifying outputs, and strengthen security through secure-by-design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Convert requirements into technical designs (behavior, data flows, contracts, responsibilities, error handling)

• Review existing code and application behavior to validate proposed solutions

• Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, developers, and application administrators; support implementation

• Perform targeted performance analysis of applications and IT infrastructure; identify root causes and recommend optimizations

• Evaluate new technologies and IT tools and contribute to adoption decisions

• Design secure solutions by identifying risks and coordinating with relevant teams

• Use AI tools for analysis, design, and documentation; verify AI outputs

• Coordinate with other departments on technology needs and change scope

• Work in an Agile team, solve technical problems, and continuously improve ways of working

• Document design decisions and communicate change scope, risks, and solution quality to stakeholders

• Contribute to system development strategy by identifying architectural needs and proposing directions for change

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in technical design of IT systems or significant architectural changes

• 2+ years of hands-on commercial software development; able to read code and trace actual request flow through the system

• Ability to translate acceptance criteria into feasible technical design aligned with system architecture

• Experience analyzing existing code and designing extensions to established mechanisms

• Practical knowledge of frontend and backend web application architecture, including data flows, REST/JSON contract design, and integrations

• Ability to design flexible, configurable solutions and assess impact on related processes

• Experience diagnosing technical and performance issues and recommending optimizations for applications and infrastructure

• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and data protection principles

• Hands-on experience using AI tools for code analysis/design/implementation/testing/documentation with critical evaluation of outputs

• Ability to document technical decisions clearly and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
