Description

Lead the Search team responsible for a highly complex, high-throughput, low-latency API used by major retailers to purchase tickets globally. You will own domain health, drive architecture and cost optimization to scale 10x, and act as a hands-on technical leader close to code, design, and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Manage, lead, and support an experienced team of engineers through coaching, alignment, and performance management.

• Own domain health and ensure systems are robust, scalable, and consistently meet performance goals.

• Drive profitability and cost optimization by solving architectural challenges to scale 10x without exponential growth in infrastructure and storage costs.

• Stay hands-on with system design, architecture, and code in a complex problem space.

Requirements

• Experience people-leading and supporting senior engineering teams.

• Highly technical, hands-on mindset; able to understand and guide deeply complex system architectures.

• Proven track record scaling high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.

• Strong resource-optimization and business mindset for profitability and infrastructure cost decisions.

• Backend programming experience in a modern language; excited to lead new development in Rust or Go and willing to learn.

• Extreme ownership of domain health and comfort in highly technical environments.

• Fluent English, verbally and in writing.
