Description

Design, build, and maintain backend services and cloud-hosted applications in Java on Microsoft Azure. Work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, well-architected solutions in a modern Azure-first environment. Own features end-to-end, from design to deployment and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services and APIs in Java using clean code principles and best practices

• Build and maintain Azure Web Apps and use Azure Storage and Key Vault appropriately

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions for automated delivery

• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, write efficient queries, and preserve data integrity

• Containerize applications with Docker and support reproducible deployment workflows

• Collaborate with DevOps engineers, data teams, and stakeholders to align delivery with goals

• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to post-incident improvements

• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• Around 3 years of backend development experience with Java

• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and object-oriented principles

• Practical experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling

• Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications on Azure (Web Apps, Storage, Key Vault, basic Networking concepts)

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions

• Working knowledge of Docker and containerized deployments

• Strong cross-discipline communication skills
