Description

You are responsible for the Clearing Module and ensure labs can bill services fully, rule-conform, and on time to payers. You gather lab requirements and regulatory changes, translate them into functional concepts and acceptance criteria, and prioritize them for the product backlog. You also lead the Application Specialists Clearing team and ensure consistent performance mapping across LIMS modules.

Responsibilities

• Own the Clearing Module: capture requirements from labs and regulatory changes, create functional concepts and acceptance criteria, and bring them into the product backlog.
• Be the point of contact for billing logic, test runs, and payer interfaces; approve new functions and releases from a specialist perspective.
• Lead rollouts and enhancements in billing: process capture in the lab, configuration of billing rules and payer master data, test billings, and go-live.
• Support labs in ongoing operations: quarterly and rule updates, billing runs, error lists and payer returns; handle complex specialist requests with support and the technical team.
• Lead the Application Specialists Clearing team both technically and disciplinarily: assign tasks, set goals, provide feedback, run development discussions, plan capacity, and expand the team.
• Ensure specialist consistency with service recording across LIMS modules for basic and specialized labs and microbiology; report to the Head of Product & Delivery.

Requirements

• Education or degree in healthcare, health economics, or business informatics plus multi-year experience in laboratory billing/reimbursement
• Excellent knowledge of EBM/KV billing, GOÄ, data carrier exchange, hospital and submitter billing, and payer rule frameworks
• Experience with billing modules of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
• Safe handling of rule updates, test billings, and error analysis in billing data
• First leadership experience or proven specialist leadership of a team
• Accuracy and reliability for quarterly runs and rule changes, plus the ability to explain complex billing logic clearly to labs and development
• Negotiation-level German
• Willingness to commute to or relocate to Leipzig (04109) and to work on-site
