Description

Build backend services and APIs for a platform used by cyclists worldwide, and use AI agents throughout the development lifecycle—from design and implementation to testing and code review. Help define team workflows, guardrails, and quality standards for applying AI in software development. Own tasks end-to-end from requirements through production while collaborating with product and other teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services and APIs

• Work with AI agents across the full SDLC: design, implementation, tests, code review, documentation

• Set up how AI is used in development as a team (workflow, guardrails, quality)

• Take problems from requirements to production, including key decisions along the way

• Collaborate with product and other teams; focus on “why” as well as “how”

Requirements

• Backend development experience enabling independent delivery of routine tasks

• Practical experience with AI tools in development, ideally with agentic workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)

• Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and architecture concepts (API gateway, databases, queues) and why design decisions are made

• Knowledge of SDLC: versioning, CI/CD, testing, code review, releases

• Autonomy: ability to split work, flag risks, and deliver without micromanagement

• Curiosity and willingness to learn as tooling changes monthly

• English proficiency for technical communication
