Systems Administrator (Command Center)

Permanent full-time position as a Systems Administrator for the Integrated Control Center (ILS) Regensburg under TVöD pay scale EG 9a.

Description

You will work in the Integrated Control Center environment that handles emergency calls and coordinates fire and rescue deployments. The role focuses on keeping the Einsatzleitsystem and related communication infrastructure running reliably around the clock, while also ensuring proper data handling and IT security.

Responsibilities

• Administer and configure the deployment command system (Einsatzleitsystem) and ensure its fault-free 24/7 operation, including backups and user management
• Maintain and coordinate local and Bavaria-wide databases with participating integrated control centers; develop and implement deployment routines and functional workflows
• Eliminate faults in the Einsatzleitsystem and in communication equipment
• Prepare, carry out, and verify system updates, including release for live/real-time operation
• Develop, implement, and monitor IT security; plan the regular renewal of hardware and software components
• Provide technical consulting and coordinate with fire service leadership, participating organizations, and companies—especially for incident follow-up and alerting planning
• Document central systems and contribute to domain-specific project and working groups

Requirements

• Successfully completed at least three-year IT vocational training, preferably as IT System Electronics Technician or IT Specialist (System Integration)
• Relevant professional experience in administration and data maintenance of large IT networks (preferred)
• Additional domain qualifications in emergency medical services or fire services (beneficial)
• Strong learning readiness, team orientation, and pronounced social skills
• Willingness to continue training and obtain the necessary qualification(s)
• Service-oriented mindset and actions
