Description

Design and implement scalable data platforms in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Develop modern ELT/ETL and streaming pipelines for batch and near-real-time processing, implement Lakehouse architectures with open storage and table formats, and model data using Data Vault 2.0 or Kimball. Build analytics-ready data products and prepare data for ML use cases (feature engineering), ensuring data quality, performance, and cloud cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable cloud data platforms

• Develop ELT/ETL and streaming pipelines for batch and near-real-time processing

• Implement Lakehouse architectures with open storage/table formats

• Model data structures using Data Vault 2.0 or Kimball (context-dependent)

• Build analytics-, reporting-, and AI-ready data products

• Prepare data for machine-learning use cases, including feature engineering (no model training)

• Ensure data quality, performance, and cloud cost optimization

• Implement orchestration, automation, and CI/CD for production-ready platforms

• Collaborate with Data Architects, governance teams, and Data Scientists

• Take technical responsibility within implementation projects

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience building modern data platforms

• Solid knowledge of at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

• Very good SQL skills

• Experience with Python (or comparable)

• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis, or similar)

• Experience with Data Vault 2.0 and/or Kimball data modeling

• Understanding of Lakehouse architectures and open storage formats

• Experience with orchestration and automation of data pipelines

• Knowledge of performance and cost optimization in cloud environments

• Experience working with analytics and data science teams

• Very good German and English skills
