Description

Ensure smooth delivery, deployment, and operational support of SAP EWM software solutions and releases. You will manage ITIL-based support processes with external AMS providers, perform system diagnostics and root-cause analysis, and coordinate improvements, updates, and obsolescence management with EWM solution architects. The role interfaces with S/4HANA EWM, SAP BTP, and modern automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable provision and deployment of new EWM software solutions and releases based on demand and problem management
• Manage and monitor ITIL-based support processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, Event management) and ensure SLA compliance via the external AMS team
• Analyze console and system messages, diagnose system outages, initiate corrective actions, and escalate to internal specialist teams or software vendors
• Advise on operating existing solutions and commissioning new solutions; coordinate system improvements, updates, and obsolescence management with EWM solution architects
• Ensure operational support through automated planning, remote monitoring, and modern methods
• Own end-to-end responsibility for delivering and implementing IT solutions and services in the EWM environment
• Coordinate operational implementation through the external Application Management Service in line with solution architects
• Ensure EWM system reliability, performance, and availability using best practices, rules, policies, plus ABAP and debugging knowledge
• Support critical incidents using ABAP expert knowledge to find actionable solutions

Requirements

• Degree in business informatics or comparable qualification
• Multi-year hands-on experience in SAP EWM operational operations/application management, ideally on S/4HANA, plus excellent ABAP knowledge
• Practical ITIL process knowledge (Incident, Problem, Change) and experience steering external service providers (AMS)
• Proven experience with rollouts, go-lives, and change requests in production or logistics contexts
• Analytical thinking, structured root-cause analysis, and strong end-user orientation
• Basic knowledge of export control and customs law in an IT context is advantageous
• Teamwork and communication skills; enjoyment collaborating with project managers, solution architects, and software architects
• Fluent German and English
