Description

Define the long-term software architecture and technology direction for the electronics microscopy product portfolio. Drive architectural alignment across products, lead architectural discussions, and contribute to technology roadmaps and long-term product strategy. Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Machine Learning to bring AI into future products while representing Software Engineering with customers, partners, and the academic community.

Responsibilities

• Define long-term software architecture and technology direction for microscopy products

• Shape the future of software platforms and unify architectural approaches across the portfolio

• Lead, develop, and support a team of ~25–30 software engineers

• Create an environment where senior developers can grow, share knowledge, and take ownership

• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and other expert teams on product technology direction

• Lead architectural discussions and enable technical decisions across multiple products

• Contribute to technology roadmaps and long-term product strategy

• Work with the Machine Learning team to introduce AI into future products

• Represent Software Engineering in collaborations with customers, partners, and academia

Requirements

• Experience leading software teams and contributing to a larger engineering organization

• Strong experience in software architecture and development of complex products

• Understanding of modern technologies; ideally experience in C++ or Python

• Ability to connect technical decision-making with commercial and product goals

• Natural people leader who supports development and builds trust

• Ability to partner with experienced developers and cross-functional technical/product teams

• English communication skills
