Description

You will lead and scale an embedded software engineering organization responsible for end-to-end software close to hardware—firmware, embedded Linux/RTOS platforms, middleware, connectivity, and real-time audio/video streaming. You’ll own domain-wide delivery and technical strategy, establish engineering excellence standards (coding guidelines, automated testing, CI/CD), and align software managers and tech leads across teams. You will also support pre-sales and technical discovery by evaluating constraints, designing high-level architectures, and estimating engineering effort for client proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Take full accountability for embedded software delivery across multiple projects

  • Define architectural choices and secure software lifecycles (OTA, secure boot)

  • Participate in pre-sales/technical discovery; produce proposals, effort estimates, and scoping

  • Establish domain-wide coding guidelines, automated testing, and CI/CD tailored to embedded Linux, RTOS, firmware, and edge AI

  • Lead and align engineering managers and tech leads; resolve technical disagreements and remove friction

  • Oversee resource allocation and capacity planning; support hiring and domain scaling

  • Serve as the primary embedded software authority for clients and cross-functional stakeholders (Hardware, Backend, Image Quality, Research, QA)

Requirements

  • Prior Head/Director/Delivery leadership experience managing embedded software or firmware organizations

  • Deep embedded architecture background sufficient to challenge decisions and guide technical discussions

  • Hands-on pre-sales enablement experience (proposal writing, pitches, effort estimation)

  • Knowledge of modern delivery practices (Agile) and CI/CD for embedded systems

  • Proven ability to empower autonomy while maintaining shared technical direction and meeting delivery commitments

  • Advanced/Fluent English (C1/C2) for executive-level communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
