Description

The role focuses on developing Go-based real-time auction engines for very large event streams. Each request must be evaluated and resolved within milliseconds, and business outcomes depend directly on code performance. You will measure and reduce latency, design event flows between services to handle traffic spikes, and collaborate with data scientists on integrating models with Go code.

Responsibilities

• Develop auction engines in Go (bidding logic and behavior under traffic spikes)

• Profile, measure, and remove bottlenecks; validate impact in production

• Design how events move between services and in what form, ensuring the system withstands load surges

• Provide data that supports business decision-making

• Work with data scientists at the intersection of their models and Go code

• Contribute to architecture by proposing, justifying, and implementing changes

Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge of Go

• Experience with backend systems running in production

• Ability to find the cause when database queries are slow (both transactional and analytical databases)

• Write code that is testable and maintainable by others
