• Role: Senior Data Scientist (Risk)

Description

You’ll join the Risk team and help shape how debtors are assessed, credit decisions are made, and portfolio health is monitored. This is a hands-on role focused on turning analysis into production-ready models, datasets, and tools used by internal teams. You’ll also prototype AI/LLM automations for underwriting and document processing alongside the CTO/Product team.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain credit-risk and scoring models using internal payment, invoicing, and collections data.

• Track portfolio and invoice-level risk metrics (approval rates, late payments, defaults, concentration) and report findings to leadership and the CRO.

• Prototype AI/LLM-based automations for underwriting and document processing (e.g., extracting data from invoices, CMRs, and contracts or flagging debtor risks).

• Write production-ready SQL to create reliable datasets and pipelines for Credit Experts, Collections, and Operations.

• Support the Credit Expert team in testing, calibrating, and improving credit limits and pricing rules.

• Provide the CRO with quantitative analysis for board and investor materials and OKR reporting.

• Help establish data-quality standards and analytics best practices as the Risk function grows.

Requirements

• 5+ years in data science or an analytical role, ideally in credit risk, lending, insurance, fraud, or a similar domain.

• Strong hands-on Python and SQL, including building models and writing efficient, production-ready queries.

• Practical experience applying AI tools/LLMs to real workflows (document extraction, classification, retrieval, and automation).

• Strong quantitative foundation in statistical modeling and probability.

• Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, econometrics, computer science, engineering).

• Fluent written and spoken English.

• Pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with emphasis on production impact.
