Description

You will support business units in developing innovative checkout and payment solutions, including optimizing card payment flows, integrating international wallets, and enabling alternative payment methods (APMs). You will define and drive the roadmap, pilot and integrate future European payment and wallet-based systems, and operate and enhance existing platforms. You will ensure compliance with international payment standards (including PCI DSS) and coordinate cross-functional projects with global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and support business units (e.g., Lidl and Kaufland) in evolving checkout solutions—from card payment optimization to integration of international wallets and APMs
  • Define the roadmap and manage piloting and integration of upcoming European payment solutions and alternative, wallet-based payment systems
  • Independently run and further develop existing systems; plan and organize international rollout of new applications considering specific hardware, software, and market requirements
  • Ensure compliance with international payment standards, including PCI DSS; continuously optimize processes and actively monitor the market to derive recommendations for long-term competitiveness
  • Lead cross-functional projects, coordinate external partners, and collaborate with international stakeholders within a global expert team

Requirements

  • Degree in (business) informatics, business administration, or equivalent qualification
  • Solid project experience in card-based payment processes, ideally in retail or financial services
  • Very strong knowledge of current payment methods (debit/credit, APMs, protocols/interfaces) plus strong interest in instant-payment infrastructures and tokenization
  • Strong analytical skills; enthusiasm for innovative IT topics in payments; willingness to take ownership and drive standardization
  • Confident, reliable, team-oriented, and strong communication in an international environment
  • Fluent German and good English
