Description

You will be responsible for the network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, switching, and static/dynamic routing, while also owning the security architecture for firewalling, VPN/IPSec, and NAC/802.1X. You will plan and implement measures to keep the infrastructure functioning reliably, support modern high-availability approaches, and contribute to purchasing guidance, technical concepts, and documentation. The role works closely with the HQ team to support around 80 European sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage the network infrastructure for LAN, WAN, switching, and static/dynamic routing
• Own security architecture, including firewalling (ISE, ASA, Cisco Secure Client)
• Implement and support VPN/IPSec and NAC/802.1X
• Plan and execute measures to ensure overall infrastructure functionality; support high-availability solutions
• Support IT infrastructure procurement with technical guidance and contribute to concepts and documentation
• Collaborate with the Bad Oldesloe HQ team for operations across ~80 European locations

Requirements

• Solid experience as a network expert (training/degree is secondary)
• Knowledge of SNMP-based network monitoring
• Willingness to take responsibility for architecture and network concepts
• Analytical skills and ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical topics
• Team-oriented, independent working style
• Very good German and good English
• Preferred: experience with public certificates and PKI
• Preferred: SD-WAN experience (e.g., Velocloud or Meraki)
• Preferred: CCNA/CCNP certifications
