Description

Design, implement, and integrate software across Android-based devices and embedded platform components. Lead connectivity capabilities—Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, USB, and related interfaces—by driving design, integration, debugging, and validation across OS, firmware, drivers, chipset, peripheral, and service layers.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, optimize, debug, and maintain software across Android devices, embedded components, hardware abstraction layers, and native system services
• Drive integration of device connectivity (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, USB, and communication protocols)
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, security, cloud-service, and product engineering teams to define requirements and technical designs
• Lead hardware and platform bring-up; analyze cross-layer interactions and resolve complex system issues
• Investigate connectivity/performance/power/reliability/interoperability issues using logs, traces, protocol analysis, telemetry, and diagnostics
• Build and improve automated verification, hardware-in-the-loop testing, diagnostic tooling, and CI infrastructure
• Provide technical guidance, contribute to project/release planning, and deliver capabilities through validation and release

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, and/or Python
• Ability to meet security screening requirements; must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
• Experience developing native or system software using C/C++, Android AOSP, Linux, or another embedded operating system
• Experience with wireless connectivity or device protocols (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, USB, TCP/IP, audio, sensors, or related hardware interfaces)
